What better plan than to say NO to consuming for consumption's sake? You can make a difference by rejecting the most obvious and vulgar celebration of the corporatocracy - Black Friday!

The adults in the room don't need more stuff to make their lives complete. They need to kick the system in the balls. Join me?

Like I said, any attempt to hurt the executives via boycotting the company will only result in layoffs.

The common salary man is guiltless you know.

Yeah don't get presents for the people you care about that will bring us all closer together and show those big dumb corporations.

Join the Black Friday Revolution, when individuals all accross this country will protest the Weapon of Class Destruction known as "credit." Starting that day, do not pay mortgages, credit card bills, or other loans. If enough of us do it, we can crash the system and liberate millions of Americans from the shackles of debt.

Great idea. I'm in. (I never bought anything on Black Friday, or any day there after anyway. I like to celebrate the spirit of Christmas on Christmas.)

Hmm,

You do know it is the lower level employees that will go first if you attempt to wound the company.

They won't be happy with us.

Don't wound the company, it is but a meatshield.

Buy local/mom-n-pop for Holidays as well!

While Adbusters helped launch this...I don't think this movement is primarily about consumerism. It seems to be first and foremost about ending the bought gov't and TBTF. If it's about anti-consumerism, I'm outta here

Why?

i was so thinking about this today. you know if no one shopped Black Friday it would show that we run this country based on what we spend and don;t spend. unfortunately though i think you would have to go as far as not shopping at this holiday season. you would also have to get people that sign up for the Christmas present help to not sign up for that help. dare i say it the holiday food shopping would also have to go by the way side.

Then everyone will shop on saturday instead. Instead boycott the perpetuation of greed by not giving our children the expectation of needless gifts on Christmas.

How about we agree to visit/use only mom-n-pop-shops instead? For that matter also during Holiday shopping? I'll use a mom-n-pop shop...

There is going to be a shop small businesses day Nov 26. I think it's sponsored by AmEx though.

We should all buy local/mom-n-pop for Holidays

I'll boycott, as I have every year since the recession-due to lack of finances :D

ironically... based on the consumer good build rate.. the corporations are already assuming that you are going to boycott. I hope people boycott because otherwise there will be a shortage of goods. As a producer of product you all depend on, Christmas sales were lousy this year.
