I just read about this guy and he sounds like a socialist radical hellbent on destroying society just to prop himself up as a 'revolutionary.' Apparently he was behind the march that turned violent in Oakland yesterday. Any word from the street on this clown?

I am Boots Riley. I was one of the (many) main organizers of the Oakland General Strike and Port shut down. We caused millions in damage to profit via the 99% realizing that their power under this system lies in withholding their labor, which is what produces wealth for the 1%. We had anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 people out there. It was one of the biggest class-conscious events in the last 60 years. The march did not turn violent. The windows that were broken at whole foods and a few banks were broken by some folks during the day, two hours before the march. Later on that night, another autonomous group of folks re-took a foreclosed building to make it into a community center. They threw a dance party out front that the police attacked with teargas. I re-iterate- police attacked a dance party. After that, the only violence was that someone lit garbage on fire because it counteracts teargas, other people did not agree with that and put it out. Arguing and fighting ensued. That's the extent of the violence. Occupy Oakland cleaned everything up the next day. Don't denounce the biggest victory that the OWS movement has had so far- which seems to be your intention. I am definitely "anti-capitalist" as is most of Occupy Oakland. That is the reason we could pull something like that off. My facebook page is here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=520078663 Subscribe to my updates.

And to be clear, I am a radical socialist. And if by destroying society you mean destroying the system that allows the 1% to live off the labor of the 99%- while we fight over the crumbs- then yes, I'm hoping the people do that. But I'm just one voice out here. My agenda has been publicly on the table since 1993. What's your agenda?
