This is a very well known counterterrorism tactic, Dr Byman who is a ethno nationalist terrorism specialist and professor at Georgetown University's Security Studies states that when the Governments or State's options are limited "...will enter the identity game themselves in an attempt to fracture violent ethnic groups by promoting new rivals." (Byman, The Logics of Terrorism, 1998). This may not be the case here, but the government could be inventing a rival group for the protesters to sway opinion or to consider their movement dangerous. In other words, do not believe the hype and keep on marching on!
I don't think it's that simple, I think this is a distraction attempt along with a "see, look, I'm doing a good job, don't look at the fact that I have this city a police state"...don't let it fool you and don't be scared.
I'm not scared, I am keeping the protesters focused on the cause, not the distractions. :D
This alleged Bomber is no doubt an OWS supporter with an ax to grind. He seems to be setting the pace for pro-activity and getting a jump on OWS and its move toward more violent protesting strategies. I'm sure you will all take from his mistakes,lessons that will help propel OWS into its destiny of Govt. overthrow.
I hope their is a revolution.

If you knew anything about me homo, you'd know both my grandfather and my father are american. Where my gramps fought for the pacific war as a marine and my father was in the airforce. Take that and cash it where the sun don't shine.
Not only that, my parents lost 50,000 to the corruption of wall street. So my participation in doing this has probably been much more than you can imagine. Especially when I help mount the Occupy Gold Coast movement.
And let me ask you this? do you think that the little protests are just about your little corner of the world or is it about the bigger picture. Go and educate yourself and you'll find that its not just you're "all so glorious" hegemonic state, but actually the world who is protesting.
Plus if you have learnt anything about terrorism, this guy has nothing to do with the #ows, he is considered a lone wolf terrorist.
