NY has squatter's rights. If yo leave the park for the friday "cleanup", they can kick you out and not let you back. If you dont leave, they cant kick you out. Please dont fall for this dirty trick!!!

NY does have squatter's rights (google adverse possession) but I believe you need to be on a property for years before you actually have rights.

That is private fucking property, you idiot. Don't you understand private property?

It is Privately owned property that is used as public space.

Also, according to the NY laws, they are not trespassing. I do not know about squatting. But, if the owners had asked them to leave, they pretty much would have to. So why not ask them to leave instead of tricking them. I think it is nice they want to clean, (to save face) But at the same time, will look like support (from someone who is considered left.) I suggest you all move to Time Square. Public place, more people to see you, interupting tourists (no one likes them) instead of workers and traffic, and best of all! That place is already filthy. PLUS it would be a great backdrop for pictures.

The park is privately owned, but was required to be built to get rights to build a nearby skyscraper. I believe they are effectively treating it as public space because of this. But I am no lawyer in this matter!
