Forum Post: Beware of the Union Elite

As a former UAW member (laid off Jan. 2007) I welcome the support of the union membership, but am worried about of the union officials becoming the spokesman for the Movement. The media seems to be latching on to them. This Movement was started by the People and I am always leery of the higher ups in the Unions and their own political motives. We the People are the voice of this Movement and not union Presidents who are a handshake or two away from the poloticians and CEOs that have created this crisis.

Yes, the whole country should beware of the union elite. Once Richard Trumpka steps foot in NYC the party is over. Your union will rot this movement in much the same way that it sucked dry the carcass of GM.

Thank YOU! That is just what I have been trying to say for the last 2 hours! The Tea Party was taken over by the uber conservatives. This movement HAS to represent the majority, and the majority IS NOT that liberal. They are all ready trying to spin it as a Liberal Tea Party, I do not agree!!!!! While my politics are very liberal in terms of society, I am a fiscal conservative all the way. That means: You pay your own way, I will pay mine and what you do with your sex life, your body, your mind is none of my damn business, and what I do is none of yours.

I agree, the media will try to spin this and weaken the Movement.

The thing is, it does not matter what political party we may lean to, it matters that we come together as Americans. I decided years ago to start voting for what I think is right. I believe I am registered as a democrat, but I have not voted for that ticket in decades. Please don't conclude that I vote republican, never have and never will. Of course, I will not vote democrat again, either.
