Forum Post: Berkeley Pepper Spray Strategy

Some years back a group of non violent protesters in Eureka CA had pepper spray daubed into their eyes with q tips by the Humboldt County Sheriff. This led to a civil rights lawsuit which we won. What happened at UCDavis CA last week looks hauntingly similar. Those kids had their civil rights violated and there are already court judgments that can be cited if they sue. I dont know if Occupy UCD has the resources or is organized well enough, but this is a court battle that could be won.
Can any settlement be extracted from the UCDavis's officer's pension fund?
Otherwise, any settlement will be akin to subtracting a few dozen scholarships from the students.
Occupy wall street is fine but the bankers on wall st dont make the laws... when we need to do is OCCUPY WASHINGTON , DC the land on the mall is federal land and belongs to all of us... fill the mall up with protesters and tents.. that will get the Politicians to wake up..
Eviscerate the coffers, of any organization, that supports standing by idly, while the rights innocents are disregarded.
I'm sure there arelawyers fighting to represent on that case they will be represented
Why would you sue, it sounds like you're trying to milk money out of the system. Isn't that polar opposite of what you're movement is preaching?
Suing those punishes the people that took away the rights of others. Honestly they should just go to jail and pay medical bills but this is the only option

Students on college property god forbid. So why didn't the cops just shoot them fuck it right they are criminals. Why didn't they just send in a cruise missile? They are on public property protesting. The cops could wait them out??? They have to eat or use the bathroom. Lots more less abusive methods could be used
You could be a protester in any other part of the world getting killed, or here where people bitch about getting pepper sprayed. God bless America!
