I agree with Mr. Hedges, "...the street. That is where the question of real power is being decided."

I agree that the street is critical in creating change. In pressuring the powerful. I do not agree that the Parties are the same. That is dangerous misinformation. Do not waste your vote on a third party. That is what the 1% want! Support OWS! Vote out the 1% supported politicians!

Support the people of Wisconsin in their bid to reclaim their state.

This is the way you handle those who do not work for the people.

Thanks Michelle.

No I do not believe both parties are the same either. I have just had it up to my ears in voting for the lesser of two evils, though. That is to say nothing of the feeling of betrayal that I feel. I do not like this forum being turned into a traditional political one.

Repeal citizens united, tax the wealthy, Stronger financial regulation, Affordable education, onshore Better paying jobs. public option health insurance, strengthen (not privatize) social security, just vote for candidates who can be made to support these critical issues. Whatever party claims support will still require constant pressure with Occupations during campaign and after election. We can't go to sleep again.!

Yes vote for canidates that support the changes necessary, IF there are any. From my point of view tho, this is the place to keep the fires of this revolution stoked and many of the people here, if they truly wanted to do that would be better leaving their LTs, and taking part in a demonstration, and/or supporting their local Occupy movement in some way.

Most of us here know what has went down, and how detrimental it has been to the 99%. We all have rehashed this over and over again. It is now time to leave the comforts of your home and get out in the streets where the real change will occur.

Yes! To the streets. lets occupy the campaign offices. pressure pols to support the issues that the 99% support. Support OWS! We are the 99%

Yes that is a good start.

I consider time spent here fruitful

[-] 2 points by Odin (583) 12 years ago

Yes time spent here is fruitful, but if anyone thinks that he/she is doing their part in this revolution by spending most of their time on this forum, and doing little else, I believe they're wrong. So far I have not been arrested, but have come close twice. I do not look forward to it, but I know that it is probably inevitable. For anyone who thinks that they doing enough, and are beyond that possibility, they are just wrong.

I got arrested for not having an ID in the town I grew up in

spent the night in a concrete box with a concrete bench

sang and danced to pass the time

You can sleep all you want when you are six foot under. Now is the time to get really engaged in this movement.

“Don't waste any more time or energy on the presidential election than it takes to get to your polling station and pull a lever for a third-party candidate-—just enough to register your obstruction and defiance—and then get back out onto the street. That is where the question of real power is being decided.”--Chris Hedges, May 2012

We need Ron Paul, but it will not. Then let Romney.
