OccupySacto had their occupation in Cesar Chavez Park. The situation there is if they pay $150 per day they can get a special permit to allow them to stay overnight in the park. They want to stay and not pay that, so each night the cops come to arrest the occupiers. Last night 23 police cars and one paddy wagon were sent to arrest four people who were going to occupy the park overnight. Their fellow occupiers left the park as demanded, but they went down to the jail and occupied the sidewalk till Brother Carter and the three others were released. Could that happen with OWS? Occupy the space across from the jail that people are taken to?
They were allowed to occupy the sidewalk in front of the jail all night, but not the park. They are allowed to put up tents in the park in the day to rest, but they cannot have those tents there at night, nor stay after 11 pm.
