All the talk about getting special interest money out of government is a waste of breath if you don't address the political parties.

Under the First Amendment, they can't be banned outright. It wouldn't be possible to prohibit their function as legal recepticles for special interest money.

I do believe that they can be severed from the political process, including candidates and elected officials. Prohibition against partisan allegiance would have to be reciprocal between the parties themselves and the individuals who seek to participate in our representational government positions.

How would special interest money collected by the parties be kept out of government? If special interests could still give money to political parties, and parties could still support candidates, the problem of bought government continues. How could parties be restricted to segregate special interest money away from the government?

I sort of think that political parties resemble lobbying more than anything else. Parties should just be lobbyists.

Also, without parties we would have to rely on voting records more. We'd have to find out more about who they are and if they put their votes where their mouths are. The voters would be much more wise for it, and I doubt Americans would have been sleeping for so long had they not blindly just voted for their team color without vetting their choice for all these years recently. We weren't catching the lies whether it was George Bush, or Obama. There is no excuse now after these last two Presidents to think either party is going to take care of you or save you.

But perhaps I am wrong. Maybe a Third party is needed. It may be time.

If we take the money out of politics i think the political parties will just fade away on their own. There will be no point taking a stance only because of their political affiliation. Our politicians will have to side with what the people want before they side with a political party. It would be just like it is now. If a politician goes against the will of the banks they lose funding and ultimately their job. Only difference is that we will be the politicians new puppet masters and not the banks.

That's just the way i see it and i could be wrong... wouldn't be the first time. =)

Buy Made in USA and support American jobs and families. Keep the jobs here not China. Buy quality products that don't break and then you have to waste your hard earned dollars and keep replacing. Made in USA products are superior in quality and will save you money over the long run (if product is more expensive initially)
