I aspire to American civilization, equality, freedom, innovation, and entrepreneurship. But now agitation, rallies, demonstrations, fanaticism. Oh! This is what I aspire to do the United States! Back to my dream!

Entrepreneurship, if it means enterprise building with a passion for product and service and not getting filthy rich is great. Sadly, part of this protest reflects a distaste for those entrepreneurs who reflect the most negative aspects of the concept--"entre" and "preneur" which means (besides an undertaker in early French society), "between" "taker"--- or basically a broker of deals. Entrepreneurs, for better and sometimes for worse, are able to see opportunity (or innovation) and take advantage of it.
This protest is about reigning in those who take advantage of opportunity without thinking about or caring about the deeper and extended negative consequences to the society in which they live nor the future of that society.
Even dreams need to be responsible--otherwise they become someone else's nightmare.
Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Edison
This protest has nothing to do with these individuals (although their innovations, sadly, have led to bad behavior on the part of others who exploit their technology in unethical ways--especially the electric utility giants who are planning to freeze out their customers who can't pay for heat this winter).
I admire their entrepreneurial spirit!
No one in OWS will argue your point. But there are ethical and unethical entrepreneurs too, so the ethical ones have an added responsibility to contribute to this discussion. That includes the thousands of people and professors promoting entrepreneurship programs and business school/business plan competitions that incite a level of financial greed far beyond necessary. (and I speak as someone who "teaches" entrepreneurship at university level).
The United States we are doing now!
Sorry China777 but not sure what you are writing. Language can be a problem in a global action.
Fair question. I am still trying to learn "why OWS" myself. I suspect that many who are writing on this forum are exploring the issue too. Some are young and simply looking for something to protest. Others understand the implications of the VIRTUAL society we have come to live in. Others fear the implications of electronically produced balance sheets that reflect no possibility of paying debts along value chains. Others want to communicate, jointly with the world, their dismay and frustration for these things--and to stop unethical practices by SOME large corporations, banks and governments which hurt consumers while a few people get rich on bad behavior.
I am not against wealth, but I am certainly against greed and deceit.
Why OWS?
