"I am the flail of god. Had you not created great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you."
"Be of one mind and one faith, that you may conquer your enemies and lead long and happy lives."
Genghis Khan was a promoter of currency, foreign exchange, international trade and commerce, and governed more as a dictator than a democrat. He also promoted war and heavily taxed the general population - regardless of income. In fact peasants (or the 99%) did not fare to well in his regime. The one revolutionary concept (at that time) Genghis Khan advanced was meritocracy. I don't think he would agree with the oft heard "Stop the war and tax the rich". The Great Khan did not condone corruption, but he demanded proof before punishment - there's not much proof of the allegations being promoted by this movement. You certainly would not make Chinggis Khan (the true Mongolian name) proud and I don't think he would want to be associated with your movement. In fact, if you tried your occupation during the Khan's rule - I think he would have obliterated your movement faster than you can pitch a tent. Freedom of dissent did not exist under his rule. Poor choice of hero.
Touche.
Yes, we know he ruled with an iron fist like many of his contemporaries.
But people can go interpret whatever words of some famous figure in a way that suits them. Take the Bible for example.
The spirit of Ghengis Khan is with us. Or is that Chaka Khan?
