Check out this website. Imagine if everyone refused to use ATM machines for one day per week. How much money do you think the banks will lose? My friend whose family was very much a part of the change in Egypt and lives here in NYC closed his bank account; both him and his wife. Refuses to allow banks $1 of his money. We Americans dislike discomfort so we don't go that far. But imagine just one day a week, boycotting Bank ATM machines ... that would be magnificent. This boycott could be done throughout the world. Millions of dollars the banks would lose from the poorest people. And that is just the beginning. What a statement.
Um.. people with any ability to plan ahead or with any fiscal responsibility would have already thought of this.
I've never paid an ATM fee before.. because I'm able to THINK and PLAN. but i dont think the majority of americans have the ability to do that... (either that or its not worth the hassle for saving 3$.. in which case go banks for cashing in on peoples laziness)
Clearly you believe yourself to be superior to others. Good for you!!!
not superior.. just cheaper
I can't recall the last time I visited an ATM. Just use a debit card, or even better... a rewards credit card and get cash back or airline miles.
Now you're using your brains. You can CHANGE the corporate world with the power you have as consumers. Please consider SOCIAL cost in every single transaction of your daily lives. See http://occupywallst.org/forum/the-power-of-the-people/
I've never paid an ATM fee in my life. Why would I? I have the ability to plan my financial transactions. People who use any old ATM anywhere for convenience sake are just being dumb with their money.
Again, let me address this comment. u believe yourself superior to others and you clearly have no one relying on you to keep them safe and alive
Um wouldn't people just go the next day then? They need to get their cash either way....
the point is to be recognized as a voice. Once people are enlightened they will find alternative ways to manage their money
But the banks would not actually be loosing any money, so I doubt they would really care at the end of the week.
mooks .... are you a monk??
Yes, and I realize that if people don't get cash from the ATMs, they will just use their debit/credit card to buy their stuff instead. The banks get their fees either way.
The banks were bailed out with our tax dollars. Only we can bail ourselves out
The government made a profit off the bank "bailout". Sorry to burst in with facts.
i suppose you are the government
You're the ones that want a bigger government to provide a deeper social welfare state, not me.
You should learn more and write less.
Stick to your five percent knowledge and capability
My capability extends to me having a job and paying my own bills. That's something well beyond your state, no doubt.
The "five percent" is to mock people like you. You aren't the 99%, just the maladapted 5% that's been there all along.
Your math capabilities echo your intelligence
Nope, he just did his reaearch
how do you spell research???
[Removed]
fivepercent and qwerty are one
So let's see the day before the protest everyone will go to ATM machines and withdraw money. That is going to hurt the banks how?
Good idea. I'm not using my ATM card for a week. Oh wait, I don't pay ATM fees with my bank. Hmmm, that won't work for me. I'm not buying coffee this week in protest. Oh wait, I don't drink coffee. I'll be back, I have to think about this some more.
When you figure out what u do with yourself, perhaps you will have something to say
