As a Republican, let me be the first to THANK Adbusters for their OWS Robin hood tax campaign. You ensure a Republican victory ...

Now for a real proposal that even Republicans and Democrats can agree on: Robin Hood Tax
Even billionaries like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, NY times (hence Republicans), conservatives like Dave Cameron, and even Obama liked the idea as well. Congress is even proposing the idea and OWS should focus more on it as well.
David Cameron ran on the Robin Hood Tax as his platform: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/7487081/Conservatives-will-impose-tax-on-banks.html

Legislation is being introduced in both the House and the Senate to impose a 0.03% transaction tax on every single trade of stocks, bonds, options, futures, swaps, and credit default swaps. But considering US banks just lost up to 8 billion dollars in revenue by not getting to impose a 5 dollar debit card fee, how hard will they fight against it? Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research discusses.
Jesus what a political circus this is going to turn into

I think this should be applied but in all local goverments. If this becomes a federal thing, who knows what issues will come up and what minorities groups' human rights may be violated.
it may be unclear from the way I wrote it, but i ceratinly meant starting with local communities, and right up to international affairs, all affected people vote on all levels on all issues that they themselves propose should be voted on - much like the system OWS ground demonstrators are using to make decisions as a group that the Movement can agree with.
Therefore, issues such as on foreign relations: Federal vote on military> other issues of that scope may be on the environment.
Unless the issues concern international affairs such as defense and military, I say keep them as low as possible. Imagine if a religion that believed in , made up the majority and thus were able to affecting everyone.
oh, this is good, you are making me think hard :) Please allow me to get back to you on this one.
