I know this idea has been offered up, but I'd like to bring it up again with the hope it takes hold. All citizens participating in OccupyWallSt, and all the other cities--what we all want is to exercise our ultimate right as Americans--to alter and abolish the corporate status quo. The Article V Convention does just that because it's a three-part national discussion (electing delegates, the actual deliberative assembly, ratification process) which stops politics as usual dead in its tracks. Corporate power has done everything it can to prevent a convention for many decades now. If corporate power does not want a convention, isn't that what we show be focusing on? All we would need to do is begin growing a list of Occupy cities who favor a convention. http://www.foavc.org is a site with lots of info. http://www.conconcon.org is a site about a conference at Harvard last month where over four hundred folks from across the political spectrum attended. It's going to take both the left and the right advocating for the Article V Convention--where we can find our common ground. Do you think corporate America wants the 99% finding their common ground?

I am with you and working on a resource for the movement to work on Article V, send me a private message with your Skype ID. I plan on running web conferences on this issue. We can get it done for sure, we are getting close to having a resource for members to meet up and get this done. It will be an uphill battle, but everyone has to do their part.

agreed this is good idea, but its also like letting the genie out of the bottle. if the current oligarchs control that genie the result could be very bad. we need to call for such a convention but AFTER we replace the oligarchy with all new 99 percent party peeps in every single election.

I am from New Jersey and would love to connect directly to you through Skype, I just had a long conversation with an individual that has quite a bit of knowledge on this issue and I am able to design what we need to make this work. I bring some technological tools to the table and want to contribute. Private message me with your Skype and I will work with a good new friend and put this into action.

Instead of being committed to ending corporate rule, why don't we simply get committed to bring about a national convention? Once there we can find out what 3/4 of the country agrees to have ratified. The constitutional process in and of itself will break the status quo in order that it can be reformed.
