As with any movement, idea, or product. It would be nothing without the art that exists to promote it. I admit I have not gotten to NYC, but I have been working the best I can from Duluth, MN to spread the word.
I've met with political groups on campus, have another meeting to explain to the College Democrats what this is all about, facebook has been spammed along with twitter. I plan to print out flyers in the next day or so. If anyone has good art they'd like to share maybe I can print it on the flyers.
Here is a poem that I wrote for all of us! the 99%
Title: We are "The People": A break up Letter to Ameristocracy
The image of Troy Davis is viral and becoming iconic. Juxtapose a 99% on that image. No clarifying text needed! I can only imagine a small fraction of the millions of discussions it could spark.
Which Image? that's not a bad idea! a few are pretty viral
One image is a photo. Another might be a cartoonized (?) version of the same. Pick one, and go with it. This will be worth far more than the proverbial "1000 words".
good stuff, liked third paragraph especially - sorry to be pill, but fix typo: "you taint [our] republic"
oh snap, thanks for pointing that out! Just kind of rushed to get it out to the masses!
Who stole the Wall St. Bull?
There is a lot of internet censorship going on about this. I tried all day to post on several sites and my posts get deleted after they go up. I have called for a congressional investigation. It needs to be a federal crime to interfere with political speech on the web just like it is for the US mail. JD Phillips LCSW
Good idea!
I'm planning to demonstrate in my town too
I couldn't go so I put my money where my heart and mind is and donated $200. I wish I could go, but I can't - I'm one of the lucky survivors who still has a job to attend to. Hope it can help.
Yeah, I'd fall way behind in school... if Occupy Chicago lasts i might carpool down for a weekend.
