Don't get me wrong... I support your goals 100%. In fact, until you read the remainder of this OP, you have no idea how much I support it.
However, I think you guys have developed a rather sloppy and inefficient way of doing this. You're out there, 24/7, in the cold and in the rain, you rely on food and supplies being brought to you, and scores of your numbers are arrested every day!
Normally, I would concede to your methods, simply on the grounds that I don't have a better idea of how to go about getting what you want.
However, I DO have a better idea about how to do this!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is David Stebbins, and about a month before you guys started your first protest, I was already putting the wheels of my plan in motion, up in Seattle. Here are some links to some news articles explaining what I'm doing:
http://blog.seattlepi.com/microsoft/2011/08/19/xbox-live-user-says-microsoft-owes-him-500-billion/
http://nwahomepage.com/fulltext-news/?nxd_id=263947
So... do you see the method to my madness? This mostly accomplishes the same thing that you're trying to accomplish, except it's a lot safer, will result in a lot fewer arrests, and a lot less camping out.
And furthermore, it has an even better chance of success! Many of these news reports expected my case to be dismissed as frivolous, and yet, the Seattle judge not only did not dismiss the action, but he allowed me to prosecute the claim without paying any court fees! I kid you not! It's all on Pacer (a federal government website that shows court docket files from the comfort of your own home for eight cents per page)! It's public record; you can look it up for yourself!
So... do you really think that your method is the best method?
honestly what yo uare doing is irrational compared to what i keep asking everyone to help me do. We can play that game up ladders. The fact of the matter is that they will have their learning curve, and we need to support them and at the same time offer more advanced strategies.
There is no best method, and a combination of tactics is likely to be superior in this case. Everybody has their own battles to fight and ways to fight them.
Agree. We'll figure everything out later. People will come to agreement (for the most part) about what is best. That's what democracy and discussion is all about. No single person has all the answers.
1 person in court or thousands in the streets? it's a false choice. we can do, need to do, both. so, david, keep doing what you're doing and OWS can keep occupying.
