If you have a 401K, Mutual Fund or any type of investement, you are guilty of being a part of the 1%. The problem stems from too much money being used to make more money. The idea of money was originally put to practice to represent your worth. This worth was based on your own personal efforts. But now we have a system which is based more and more on investments and less on actual work. This places the burden of making money on the shoulders of too few workers. It also forces the corporations into a position to earn higher profits so they can keep the investors happy. And we all know what that means. So are you guilty? Pull your investment money. Stop encouraging the corporations to make higher profits to provide you a higher return. The cycle of greed begins and ends with all of us as individuals. Afterall, we ARE the 99% of the nation. It is our own actions that have ultimately created this problem... each drop of water which has contributed to the flood. The system only responds to the environment which that flood creates. The answer lies within each of us. We must use our enfluence as being 99% of the nation and all change TOGETHER to force real change.
