Madison Rising, a rock band that describes itself as "pro-America" says it attempted to procure a legal permit for a live anti-Occupy Wall Street performance in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park on Tuesday, but was ultimately denied by the park's ownership, Brookfield Properties.
tell them to play at the original tea party site - where they belong
IN the Boston harbor
So a pro American band is the enemy now? Anything pro America is now bad?
I am pro-American and I resent any group that is against any organization and any community that has done so much and sacrificed so much to wake up America and the world to the truth of the plutocracy.
Of course, I would not be crass enough to connect plutocracy with fascism.
Wow! The 1% standing behind Occupy! Occupy is starting to have some influence!
I think it had more to do with them not wanting any more raucous activity in the vicinity.
Who knows? Right? If the 1% is getting closer to the 99%, let's not push them away!
Is there anyone still in Zuccotti Park? I was wondering who they were going to play for.
Usually bands use posters to promote their acts. They might put a picture of themselves and a title, date, and whereabouts for the event. They then stick those posters in windows and on telephone poles. Some people read them and tell their friends. Then some of those people come to the show.
I understand, but is there a OWS crowd in the park, or was the band just wanting to use the park for a show?
That's a good question. I don't know. Hopefully, someone can answer. You made me curious.
The article was vague, wasn't it?
I think Mr. Picket had the flu. He wrote once sentence, then finished his article by quoting a two paragraph press release. I applied for a job at the WashingtonTimes just after reading the article.
Ironically, you wrote a one sentence post and linked to his article. Is it OK if I write a one sentence entry in my blog and link to your post? I'll add it to my portfolio. WashingtonTimes just asked me to send an example of my work.
Have at it. I wasn't able to find another source.
