Ahh here in America its an American problem that should be solved by the American people. I think it would be better to hear Americans speak in liberty plaza rather than someone the news media has glorified from India. Besides they have different problems there than we have here. such as infrastructure and social ills left over from their caste system among other things.
why, is she an American???
In case you have been in hibernation for the past couple of months, this isn't an American movement, rather what is happening here is a microcosm of what is happening throughout the world, albeit in a different form.
Firstly, Anna Hazare is a "he", not a "she", and has been very much in the news lately as a hero of the struggle against government corruption in India. Or don't you follow the news, "amanoftheland"?
I think it would be a great honor to receive such a man in Liberty Plaza.
This isn't just an AMERICAN movement, it's A WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE. So why isolate ourselves? Why seal ourselves from the outside world? To me, such a position smacks of jingoism. As the poet said, "No man is an island!"
