I'm just an old guy now, a veteran of the '60s protests.
We failed to bring the real issues to the people.
We had the war to deal with and maybe that was the important thing, but I've waited 30 years for folks like you, men and women of courage and conviction, to start the conversation that has to take place.
I am so proud of all of you.
I agree that demands must be specific and sophisticated.
But I do believe that an overall, short, to-the-point statement is also important.
Please keep hammering on these two --
Economic Democracy - as the logical progression of the American Revolution and the evolution of human beings living together in peace and harmony on this planet,
and Economic Justice - as the ethical yardstick of a great country.
Please have heart.
Thanks for the post, Nevada! The arguments on this forum remind me of the old days - SDSers arguing with Leninists, and SNCCers and the Panthers. Oh my god, I don't even remember all the clicks and clacks.
Hope you're doing well - keeping the faith alive, living as best you can in a corrupt society.
Have you seen this video about the "Dirty Fucking Hippies"?

Take care guys...the beat goes on!
Hi Emanonman, Am old guy also, and so excited to see the young in the fight. Best Regards, Nevada
Are you two from the west and the far, far west? I'm fortunately just across a river. I'll be going there tomorrow, marching with my union in support of these folks.
I'm with you old timer. Been there, done that, and high time to do it again, only better! Hooray for this lot-- let's give 'em all the support we can.
Thanks David....ain't it grand?
I sure hope so! I'm going over there with my union on Wednesday-- a show of Labor support. I'm blown away by the fact that they are at the top of the news cycle on 1010WINS, WNYC and even the PBS News Hour. Gotta keep this going!
"Lay your body down..." you old radical.
