THE STREET

Behind the doors of Wall Street “They” craft, weave and execute And their manipulations Leave so many destitute

And with all their excess cash Buy those for whom we voted Compromising why they’re there The citizens demoted

“Behind the wall” discussions Are talks of tax reductions Ever worming new loopholes To increase their deductions.

Distorting filibusters So majorities can’t rule The Street has their hand in that Using congress as their tool

And the pharmacy’s lobby Denies healthcare as a right When some are owned by The Street Add to a citizen’s plight

So many young in bondage Whose after-school debt is due Denied a decent future The Street’s involved in that too

Fraudulently they mixed up Mortgages that they could sell Resulting in evictions While The Street made out quite well

There’s so much unemployment The problem’s just gone too far Forcing those without a job Into the street or their car.

The High Court’s majority Gave corporations a voice Huge funding they now donate To congressmen of their choice

Being a war-like nation Many people it must vex Though not the Military Or Industrial Complex

Viewing all of these crises When looked upon as “a whole” Washington just holds the reigns It’s The Street that’s in control
