I feel that many people that agree with our cause (get money out of politics) and are a part of the top 1% are intimidated to join. And I realized, we are being really black and white about this topic. This isn't rich vs poor. This is the People vs The Corruption.
If some 1%'s (non-partisan for now please) Want to join our cause and set themselves apart from the corrupt, to lead to a better nation that benefits everyone, including the upper-class, Then we should welcome them!!
HERE IS MY TWO PART PLAN TO CHANGE OUR SLOGAN and our image.
1) Start holding signs that read "We are growing" and "We are the 99.9%" This will show that we are willing to accept the rich too. It will show the world that this isn't class warfare, it is a revolution from our corrupt dictators! The 1% are affected by these corrupt people too. The corrupt make laws that effect the 1% but tha have loopholes so they can get out. So the corrupt get off, while the honest pay.
This way we also won't look like communists looking for a handout and to destroy the rich, or whatever Fox News is spewing.
STEP 2: Invite well known, active, and caring rich people (Like Bill Gates and friends) to announce their solidarity with the movement. With this support, we will win. Every argument against us will be invalid AND we will be better protestors for figuring out the difference between a paycheck and evil.
PLEASE spread this like wildfire. We need to show we aren't close minded commie hippies. We need to show we are rational and we have a very real enemy.
True; as far as taxes are concerned I'll say this: At this point the tax codes do need reforming, but "reforming the tax code" and "cutting taxes" are not the same thing. What we have right now is essentially a maze of Swiss cheese comprised of differing federal, state and local taxes. I choose that analogy because the ordinary guy who plays by the rules and pays his taxes when they come due no matter how onerous gets lost in the maze and finds his bank account half empty by the time it's over with because of burgeoning property taxes, obscure little rules, etc. while the millionaire or large corporation has the option of hiring a lawyer (or posse thereof), finding every single hole in the tax code, and proceeding to drive a Humvee through it.
What does this have to do with your "99.9%" comment? It's simple. There are members of the current 1% who choose not to utilize the loopholes our current system makes available to them, who pay their taxes not because anyone's watching but because it's the right thing to do, and who legitimately care about the welfare of the rest of us. The problem is that if we come in yelling about impoverishing people simply because they have money (even though that's not really what we want to do) that group is going to get scared off and we'll lose a shot at a fairly influential support base.
What the sympathetic 1% need to know is that real tax reform won't hurt them a bit if they've been playing by the spirit of the law and not the letter; closing loopholes and "redistribution of ill-gotten gains" or however else they're going to see it posted here is simply a catchier way of saying that we want to put the letter of the law back in line with the spirit in which it was enacted. Now, if you've gotten accustomed to working the loopholes and looking to pay as close to no taxes as possible, then that should be a scary prospect. If, on the other hand, you've been doing things the right way all along you should welcome us; if everyone else starts paying their fair share the way you already do, that actually translates to less civic and financial responsibility for you.
Exactly, but how about "we are the 100%, which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive strategy, and related candidate, that implements all 100% of our demands at the same time, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategic Legal Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

if you want to be 1 of 100,000 people needed to support a Presidential Candidate – such as myself or another you'd like to draft – at AmericansElect.org in support of the above bank-focused platform.
I agree with this posting.
When will we be the 101%?
Never. That is a statistical improbability. I could make an immigration joke here, but meh.
I agree with this posting.
It is true that not all of the rich participate in the Plutarchy. That needs to be discussed.
Thank you, I believe it will add legitimacy to our cause. Please spread the word.
ows from start has been democratic and all republicans do nothing but demonize the movement read the signs listen to the people and see tax rich get money out of politics end wars have never been backed by republicans tax cuts for middle class modernize roads and bridges invest in middle class not banking class by raising minimum wage thats the occupy wall street message
No, the message is simple. End monitary corruption in our government so we can debate fairly about stupid things like gun control and welfare.
You are politicizing the movement and shame on you for ever thinking one group of people are better than another.
the republicans are doing themselves by attacking ows
