For the VERY longest time, I believe, there has been a very large minority in this country that has never found there ideologies to apply to specific "wings" in American politics, now, of course, there academically is always a place where a person lies, tests available online. Aside, most people, it is my belief, Simply... DO NOT identify themselves as simply left or right... conservative or liberal... republicans and democrats.. so what does this mean for them then, this Silent Majority, what can THEY tell us about the status of the People.
In American politics we ALWAYS see an Allegence to Party over Country. A sheer INABILITY to see the other persons view... not to succeed over another person.. not to WIN... not to take control.. not to upend an existing policy for "political" reasons.. regardless of how this concept is 'said' i.e. partisanship, "hackery", liberalism, elitism, extremism, WHATEVER FORM IT IS SAID IN.. we all know to what I'm referring...
Do we not see this in American Politics today? In MAINSTREAM Media and Government?
This population in America understands that there IS SUCH A THING.. a supporting an idea even though it may not be your own; or that it may be hard to except that an enemy may be right. But what is more fundamental about this? The Principle; "I know, that I can be wrong too." An intellectually humble exercise... something our Founders were probably familiar with...

We must all, and I suspect have at some point, cried: WHY?!
Heres what I suspect it may be... I often pose this question to my intellectual friends... Which comes first? Culture/Civics or Governement? Which is the product of which? The obvious answer, admittedly a trick question, is both. So what does this have to do with the Silent Majority, the non-conservative non-liberals, it IS our place, our PURPOSE and ethical duty, to say to the former, that life, that reality, that choices, that ethical thinking, is not a simply black/white, either/or construct... but in actuality, ONLY shades of grey... this is what we must be here to remind this government of, these people, MUST. BE WILLING. TO SAY. "I. CAN. BE. WRONG. AND. HAVE. BEEN."
