Forum Post: American Spring - Engage the country

We need meaningful ways for the entire country to participate in the movement. Something that has a broad impact, something that sends an unmistakable message. We need a way that the 15 year old, the 90 year old and everyone in between can particpate in. I suggest a nationwide strike on specific days. On these days simply do not buy anything. Oct 31st - the day of solidarity - particpate if you support OWS Nov. 7th - Fair Tax Day - participate if you think the tax system is unfair Nov. 14th - Political Campaign Contributions - public funding of all political offices (no private contributions) - get the money out of politics

You get the idea. One issue a week. Those who believe and support the issue does not buy anything that day. They can shop the day before and the day after. Pretty much everyone in the nation can participate
