If you check the Constitution, it shows we are a Republic, not a democracy. Whats the difference? The source of authority. A democracy is about how the people feel at the time. This can change over time and is not consistent and reliable. A Republic gets its source of authority from the Bible. The founding fathers knew that leaders had to be of moral background and make sound decisions that would withstand the whims of leaders that did not have the best interest of the people. And why would you use the Arab Spring from another country that overthrows its government in violent ways. I hear you want to be a peaceful demonstration.
Miriam-Webster's Definition of Republic: Definition of REPUBLIC 1. a. (1) : A government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president (2) : a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government
b. (1) : a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law (2) : a political unit (as a nation) having such a form of government
c. a usually specified republican government of a political unit <the French Fourth Republic>
I don't see anything in the definition of "Republic" about a Bible. And I can't find anything in the Constitution about a Bible either. In fact, the only thing in the constitution about religion is Article 6, Section 3:
"[N]o religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."
Hm. It's pretty clear that religion and government were not meant to mix. Looks like you're plum out of luck there, Rhondakay908. No religion in the Constitution. Sorry.
Constitutional Democratic Republic technically.
Nowhere in the world does the definition exist that "A Republic gets its source of authority from the Bible." - except maybe in your mind. Words have specific meanings and to communicate effectively you must use them as they are defined not as you wish they were.
