The Corporations are our British Empire, and we must break free.
The Americans were revolting in large part from British corporations, which were extensions of the British monarchy. So it might be more accurate to say that the Corporations are our Corporations, and we must break free ... again.
You wrote that on a device manufactured by a corporation. Just so you know.
Oh really? I had no fucking idea. But now that I'm enlightened I no longer support OWS...not
:~)
If you want to "break free" of corporations, that's your choice. But until you stop writing on your laptop or smartphone or whichever device you used, you haven't broken free.
Should I hand out pamphlets like Thomas Paine? You're a thoughtless dickhead, you know that?
No, I just see the hypocrisy in criticizing corporations through devices that were manufactured by corporations.
And if you somehow managed to buy paper from a firm that wasn't organized as a cooperation and created pamphlets through an entity organized as a sole proprietorship, partnership, or other non-corporate form, then you wouldn't be contradicting yourself. I think that's a start.
Remember how I called you a thoughtless dickhead? You just got a promotion, you're now the thoughtless dickhead of the year. I'm not going to argue your twisted logic.
There are no twists in my logic; it's quite linear. For whatever reason, you dislike the corporate form of organizing a business to the point that you made a thread likening corporations to the British Empire circa 1776. Yet, you voiced your dislike of corporations by using a device that was manufactured by a corporation.
That is hypocritical.
Let me clarify: I don't dislike the corporate structure. I think that the corporate structure is a great thing, in fact! My problem is multinational corporations that control every aspect of the global economy.
I don't view that as a problem, but I think there's nothing wrong if you do. We would just disagree, and we can do that in a free country.
Truth. Perhaps if you were no so heavily affiliated with the "right wing" you might be open to a more logical thought process.
Indulge me.

I have to hand to the narrator; he does a reasonably good job of obfuscating what his proposal really is: Communism. I'm sure that just like with Communism, "if properly implemented," it will be great. And just like Communism, it can never be "properly implemented."
Right, so you can't discredit something which is entirely different from Communism, by calling it Communism. Like I said, perhaps if you were not so heavily affiliated with the "right wing" you might be open to a more logical thought process.
It's not entirely different at all. His proposal calls for central planning of production. So does Communism.
His proposal calls for abolishing private ownership. So does Communism.
His proposal centralizes literally all power. So does Communism.
As I said, I'm sure it'll work if "properly implemented." But it will never be "properly implemented."
Do you think Capitalism is the only way? Do you think that human beings discovered the meaning of life a few hundred years ago: CAPITALISM! No, it's time to think outside of the box.
Capitalism may not be the only way. But in the last century, we have seen the abysmal performance of economic systems that called for state ownership of factors of production, and the RBE pitch you linked to advocates the same thing. That's hardly thinking outside of the box; that's ignoring history.
agree to disagree
you are correct. On youtube there is a short clip called "The American Dream By The Provocater Network" Everyone should see it.
