can you say . . . ouch . . .
Good post. It's very late in the game to think about reversing climate change before it affects some of us very negatively. Hopefully in the very early stages of those inevitable adaptations some of us will have to make, the rest of us will take climate change seriously.
Although, like you, I wish we already were pushing much harder for alternatives to fossil fuels, I don't believe we will until a good many of us are knee-deep in sea water or worse. Then all we can do is hope for the best while we accelerate our efforts to find and implement alternatives.
Sad thing is - it is all so unnecessary. There is so much we could be doing today - hell - years ago.
Such as: ( many technologies that go towards eliminating waste and pollution )
An interesting episode all of the way through - BUT - at 43 minutes - it talks about liquid metal batteries.

To deniers, every winter and every night proves they are right.
To 1% Fossil-Fuel profiteers, adversity is something the 99% deserves.
To us 99%, increased Voter Turnout gets us everything we want!
Yea, and when solution comes along, utube blocks it from using the video response promotion feature.

Then they block text comments from the channel. Why? It has info directly related to the solution.
I actually look forward to some truly wild weather patterns.
Complacency is what got us into this situation in the first place.

As are we all.
Whatever it takes to change the status quo from our current military dictatorship, masquerading as democracy, will be fine by me.

User of petroleum to blame, but deceived by tv shadow masters. Time to lose lie.
We need to follow jart's advice and go from bankers to belugas. Occupy's top priority should be to save the fauna and flora. When our planet dies, we also die.

This calls for an old school rap battle. 80's style. Let's keep the raps tight and to the point. The readers can decide the winner through scoring.
One thing you may not know
Is that I'm black from head to toe
On the mic, I rap it up
On the streets, I scrap it up
On this forum, I wise it up
So don't come here and crap it up
With wild conspiracy delusions
Crazy logical distortions
Contortions that destroy truth
And are evil to booth
I ain't no jart.
Focus on Fukushima.
If that shit isn't sorted soon, forget everything.
Agreed. Such a disaster is part of the struggle for fauna and flora. From now on, from bankers to belugas. Let's save this planet because the politicians sure aren't doing it for us.
It's all tied to the corruption of our capitalist system. There's going to be nothing alive soon enough, if corporate criminals aren't bought to justice, and regulated by rational and fair rules, rather than ones they write themselves.
Get rid of citizens united, reinstate Glass Stegal, secure true representation from our representative govt, or saving belugas will be pointless.
Yep
All that is lacking is the authority. How will that be gained?
Active revolution, if you look at other nations.
Peaceful protest has spread awareness, but the attention span of modern humanity seems to be measured in days only.
