So throw some ideas out there for us to do something with our earnings that isn't going to the pockets of Wall Street. I'd love to hear some good ideas that don't involve:

starting a business buying stamps or coins going to a casino.

Silver and gold bullion only increase in value determined by the market. land - requires some type of business to actually make money from it. unless you find something that will appreciate significantly and can sell. small business - 95% of all business fail within the first year.

I think these ideas can be good, but too high risk. Much more risk than a current 403b.

Sustainable investments such as mentioned are good for home owners, though the cost of LED bulbs outweighs the return on energy conservation.

Silver and gold bullion, land, becoming a silent partner in a small business (as in you don't start it or manage it). Investing in technologies that lower your future costs (solar, geothermal, more insulation in your house, LED bulbs - a lowering of future cost is the same as an increase in future returns).
