Forum Post: Alternate Revolutionary Tactics

While i deeply respect non-violent tactics, in today's America this sort of protest is not going to change anything. In the past, non-violent protests have all drawn power from one thing; a truly oppressive regime. Gandhi had the British, Syrians had Al-Ba'ath and King had institutionalized racism. Unfortunately the majority of America's public does not see itself as oppressed and the current Wall Street movement is seriously lacking a political agenda. This will be remembered as a brief moralist movement unless those involved begin engaging in direct action. No politician or CEO will listen to a group of disorganized liberal students. But they will respond to events or coordinated actions which threaten the very foundations of their existence and power structure.

Very true, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategic Legal Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

Yesterday I spent several minutes typing out a much more effective plan that would actually keep the elites in check. It's non-violent and consistent with core U.S. concepts:

I thought it had been moderated away, but I see now it did appear. But, no one paid any attention to it, despite how incredibly effective it would be.

The last time I remember being so outraged that it seemed a short step to armed revol,t was when a group of Ohio State National Guardsmen fired live rounds at a non-violent student protest at Kent State. Have we really all forgotten? We got really angry then, and more lives are at stake now.

I'm glad that our disorganized, multi-headed 1969 movement succeeded after many years by getting people to start thinking again. Not by blowing up bridges and shooting people we disagreed with. Street Protest has always had an element of theater, and this time is no different, but look at where the support is coming from this week, and you'll get an idea as to whether this is a wasted effort. I'm encouraged for the first time since Reagan took office.

Trolling troll hopes to instigate violence.

Trolling troll probably doesn't know what political violence actually looks like. Sad that so many romantic fantasies of violence spring up now and again.

So Dan. You are planning an armed revolt? Violence? Perhaps a little midnight Bombing?

What are you suggesting?

[-] 1 points by DAN (2) 13 years ago

No I don't think armed revolt will gain any real support at this point. There isn't any charged political tension and we aren't in a depression. Yet. But some more active civil disobedience would get attention and draw more people. Sit-Ins, demonstrations in other areas, refusing to leave the street etc. If enough people can enter a situation knowing they'll be arrested, a stronger message will be sent than walking completely pacified through pre set barricades. This level of cooperation would also create a more organized approach to the protest and eventually the movement

So what is you are looking for exactly?

Though more and more people have realized the injustice of the society, and protested, most still don't know what is the right way. voice, if diverse, will be weakened and hardly be effective. so, here, we suggest a possible way for your consideration.

People's voice should be consistently like this:

1) To the government and the capitalists: you are elits and were granted the capital and power based on our trust on you. However you abuse your wisdom for gathering your own wealth; you abuse your power and military force for maintaining your governing. So, you have no right anymore to control the capital and materials, and to lead the army. You should either whole-heartedly serve the people, or give up and let those who have a higher wisdom as well as mercy to lead us and control the capital.

2) To all the monopoly : you should give up the aim of pursuing maximum profits, and change the aim into minimizing the costs and the labor time but should not fire the workers or reduce the payment for the reason of improved productivity and reduced costs. the enterprises are not yours, but us all human beings. If you feel reluctant to serve us all, you should leave your position and let all the people to chose the managers of the enterprises.

3) To all the citizens on the Earth: We should be united. We should all be benevolent and selfless, should advocate virtue and high spiritual pursuit. We should make the global enlightment and the global material and spiritual freedom our common goal and struggle for it whole-heartedly.

We behave, for no special reason, we don't depend much on our logic, we tend to listen to our heart...so, I don't know how to reply...we didn't think that much...but we know the right path to a better world for all human beings, and then we did it... in our eyes, nationality and politics have little meaning... these are all foolish ideologies...and are totally under the control of the Tao, the supreme god....
