I own a small retail business. I depend on my neighbors for my prosperity. If they do well, they visit my store and I prosper as well. In short, we depend on the prosperity of others so that we might. Joining together to help our neighbor is not only American, it is Human. We should not ignore the plight of others, even if they be homeless, for we might be joining them if we don't help. Put corporations in their rightful place and let humans once again make their own decisions.
I too own a small business. I don't think that people understand that if no one has money to support my store or yours, that we will close. I support the 99%. I used to work for a private non-profit before leaping into the business. I have not had a paycheck in over 3 years, my husband longer. We do take owner draws that pay our household expenses and pay taxes on those draws. I do not have health insurance and if anyone of us requires medical attention, we would loose everything. I agree that we might be joining the homeless if we don't help. Good luck to you and your business Rogerinthe Desert.
