From what I was just reading they started this movement with the goal of removing big corporate money from politics. Is this the case? If it is, it is a defined and reasonable goal for the movement. I need to do some more reading on the organization.

Sorry if this is obvious to you all, I am a bit late to the "party".

Adbusters is a Canadian leftist organization largely funded by the Tides Foundation. Tides receives a lot of money from George Soros who is a left wing billionaire who has made billions on Wall Street.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters are being used as pawns by a Wall Street interest.

This whole thing was started just to provide a smokescreen and distraction from the failed policies of the left wing Obama Administration and the Democrats.

If you people are really upset, you should be down in Washington D.C. doing your protesting and "occupying".

Sorry, I don't see the Obama administration as failing.

I would be down in DC or in NYC if I could. Instead I have to go to work. However, I very well may be going to NYC this weekend. Or, I will be joining in with the small group that is getting started in my city.

We have high unemployment. We have trillions of additional debt and massive trilliona and a half deficits each year. We have the most anti-business administration in American history exasperating the unemployment problem. So much more and too numerous the mention.

If you don't see this administration as a failure, I would really hate to see what you define as success.

Oh bull, they are not the most anti business administration in US history. And, it is not the policies of this administration that is holding business back from creating jobs. It is CORPORATIONS that are refusing to spend the money they are hoarding (and that would be TRILLIONS) that is keeping the jobs from coming back. It is CORPORATIONS that are sending every job they possibly can overseas to save a buck by underpaying citizens in other countries.

As far as what I see as success... The fact that we aren't in a 1932 style deep depression is success enough considering the gigantic cluster f**ck that was left by the last administration to be cleaned up. There was no way that anyone could have turned that nightmare around in the time the Obama administration has had.

Occupy Wall Street is a protest movement that has been going on since September 17th made up of the 99% of the world's population demanding freedom from this system that benefits only 1% of the world's population. Here is what Occupy Wall Street is all about:

The movement didn't spring spontaneously from the ether on 9/17/11.

I like the goal outlined by Adbusters and I think it could make a lot of headway in cleaning up all the tangential issues that have been brought to the table.

Really? Their site has mention of the idea back in July. Do you know of anyone that was circulating the idea earlier?

The general goal is right on track, but no big name started this
