The ACLU filed a lawsuit on February 1st against various agencies of the Obama administration — the Justice and Defense Departments and the CIA — over their refusal to disclose any information about the assassination of American citizens. In October, the ACLU filed a FOIA request demanding disclosure of the most basic information about the CIA’s killing of 3 American citizens in Yemen: Anwar Awlaki and Samir Khan, killed by missiles fired by a U.S. drone in September, and Awlaki’s 16-year-old son, Abdulrahman, killed by another drone attack two weeks later.

Not the first time either. ACLU had a lawsuit dismissed by a federal court back in 2010 over similar issues.

Greenwald writes: "From a certain perspective, there’s really only one point worth making about all of this: if you think about it, it is warped beyond belief that the ACLU has to sue the U.S. Government in order to force it to disclose its claimed legal and factual bases for assassinating U.S. citizens without charges, trial or due process of any kind. It’s extraordinary enough that the Obama administration is secretly targeting citizens for execution-by-CIA; that they refuse even to account for what they are doing — even to the point of refusing to disclose their legal reasoning as to why they think the President possesses this power — is just mind-boggling. "

The only thing more mind-boggling is that there are so many people who know this, don't approve of it, and yet still intend to vote for the man.

unfortunately, any president is being allowed these powers

Well, there should be more than one alternative to vote for, seeing as how they are both bought and paid for already.

Yes, we need to give more support to other parties and independent candidates. I will probably be voting for Rocky Anderson of the newly formed Justice Party. http://www.justicepartyusa.net/

I like this guy so far. The first video I found was quoted "Obama completely betrayed his base." I made a post about Obama's fraud with that exact title a week ago. Thanks for the link. I'll have to look into him more but he seems pretty legit from what I've seen here.

why not the green party

it's already established

I swear trolls post that we need to reinvent the wheel way too often

Good question. I don't know why Rocky formed a new party rather than going with the Greens. Supporting the Green party could be great too. I've voted for Green candidates before. I really like Anderson though and he's running from Justice Party.

I'm curious, why would you jump to the conclusion I'm a troll based on what I posted?

I don't know the party

Seems like kind of a silly reason to accuse someone of trolling.

being called a troll is not the end of the world

Actually the reinvention of the wheel was amazing and revolutionized change. Go back in time to the origin of the wheel, way different than today's version. Hahaha.

Lighten up. No need to call this guy a troll. Unless you two have a dark past that I'm not aware of...

fair enough

but the Green Party already exists

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

Yes it does... and it's made out of people.

You're thinking of the Soylent Green Party, who have a very different platform. ;-)

You have to give it to Obama, he's a killing machine. I love it, anyone the ACLU hates, i'll support. Let's kill the Islamofascist! The ACLU i guess we have to put up with for now.
