There has been mass media outcry for a list of our demands. We do not have the current infrastructure or cohesiveness to offer demands.
Others have called of some kind ideological theory to rally behind, or a proposed solution. The theories for a solution have not yet had a proper forum for discussion within this movement, and cannot be addressed in the short term.
And so all that can feasibly be done now for the short term is to make a list of the problems that the movement is taking issue with. From there we can determine how these problems are connected, and how we can "solve for pattern." Come up with a solution that can answer all of these problems without making new ones.
I'm about done even having hope in this movement. The people in this forum are increasingly conspiratorial and libertardian. Hopefully the kids on the street have their head on straight. This shit looks like it's been hijacked by former tea partiers though. The government doesn't need to go it needs to represent the people. If you crush the government then big business becomes our new overlord. Don't crush the government, become the government through functioning democracy.
I agree Muad. Don't get discouraged though. That's why those who oppose the movement come here. You can see from the signs on the street that they don't feel the same way.
The internet allows for multiple accounts and for people who otherwise sit in their mom's basement to chime in while their mom brings them another bag of Cheetos. Don't worry about them and keep focused.
Though federal government could be a bit smaller, they have wayyyy too many programs that were never meant to be their job anyway. And we waste a LOT of money bribing other countries
Authoritarians cannot conceive of a mass movement without a leader telling them what to do.
Do not whine for someone to lead you.
The leaders of this movement have been very careful not to give a "list of demans" and for good reason, the second they take sides on something is the second the opponents have a reason to go after them and the movement loses focus. And don't kid yourself, this forum is not the voice of the movement, the people on wall street are, so don't ruin what they're working for by listing out demands for the media to pick apart.
Agreed. The revolution is in the streets. The internet is just where we organize when we're not able to make it to an occupation and we try to accommodate the needs of those actually on the ground.
I'm filing docs with local grand jury showing Treason committed by members of congress - they don't abide by their Oath and they do not fulfill their duty of coining our money. The grand jury can then indict them, and they'll have to face the public for their crimes via Trial by Jury.
It's a viable action plan and a good start.
end greed and corruption in government it is just that simple
how?
Public financing of elections and an end to the two-party system. No revolving doors between regulators and corporate entities.
end corruption.
Yes, it started as "get greed and corruption out of govt".
I like Dylan Ratigan's slogans too GET MONEY OUT (of government) and THE SEPARATION OF CORPORATION AND STATE
addendum: everywhere on earth.
