"Original Sin" is the abandonment of the "Garden of Eden" [the hunter gatherer egalitarian lifestyle] facilitated by the temptation of leisure for leaders provided by the work of others that the former demand and organize communities to have.

It started with the rise of pastoral and agricultural communities around 10,000 years ago. It will end when non human entities [corporations] have hoarded all the wealth of resources, material goods and the monies that represent them and real human beings, not including investors, have nothing on which to live. The amoral, conscience-less psychopaths will have destroyed not just the economy but probably most life on the Planet Earth. But shareholder value will have been maximized.

"The 'Middle Precariats,' as Quart (Alissa Quart: "Squeezed: Why Our Families Can't Afford America.") terms them, are suffering death by a thousand degradations. Their new reality: You will not do as well as your parents. Life is a struggle to keep up. Even if you achieve something, you will live in fear of losing it. America is not your land: it belongs to the ultra-rich."

Do the "better angels" have a chance?

I've always compared Wall Street to America's abusive husband. At first it provides, then it forces us into dependence, then it controls and abuses us and convinces us we can't live without it. The gaslighting process is the same as that of an abused wife. We think we are the problem. We blame ourselves for our lack of power and the trust we placed. We work harder to fix the situation believing somehow that will make a difference. The next time the beating gets worse. Worse than 2008.

And at to that these investors can only insulate themselves for so long before their money ends up worthless. Ws never creates a win win...and the losers are always working people ( the heart of our economy, the consumers). After they destroy us they always come crawling back...this time we need to say NO!
