Stop allowing corporations (Or individuals for that matter) that pay zero in Federal taxes to collect Federal tax "refunds." If they pay nothing in, they should get nothing back.
I know the "message" has been muddled at best through all of this so far, but this is MY message that I'll be taking to my local occupation.
Stand tall and hang in there.
I agree.
This is the first thread that I actually agree 100%.
By all means spread the word! ;-)
Jobs. If we don't have enough jobs in our country for our own citizens, why don't we severely penalize corporations for farming them out overseas and stop inviting/tolerating non-citizens taking our jobs and shipping half that money out of the country? That is my message. Skilled, educated, American by birth & unemployed.
Most jobs are going away due to automation. Here's a good video about what's happening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0Z8TR4ToNs
I don't know why more people aren't talking about this. Jobs aren't coming back, in fact they're going to disappear more rapidly this decade. Here's a good book to read for free online as well. http://www.thelightsinthetunnel.com/LIGHTSTUNNEL.PDF
we have plenty of jobs. its just that most americans think they're too good for those jobs. i got 2, and you can't find one?
Yeah, we had over 150 applications last week for 1 cashier opening in the paper. And the wages at the warehouses & factories here have not risen since 2000.
its october. every single retail store in america is preparing for christmas. nearly all of them will be adding employees. Perform exceptionally as a seasonal employee and they may keep you.
Personally, I'm aiming at what I guess you could call a starting point. I agree with your post but I get the sense that there are many here who want things to happen all at once and I just don't think that's realistic. Thus, a very modest proposal.
