Forum Post: A RARE - and PROPHETIC - moment of truth in this land of lies !

On February 14, it was almost surrealistic to hear Columbia University economist Jeffrey Sachs tell it straight - and, as it turned out, prophetically - on Bloomberg, a Wall Street news channel !
You could feel the man’s exasperation and deep concern that things could soon turn very ugly indeed in America unless there is a major overhaul in the system.

Excerpts:

“This is absurd what were doing! The rich have had twenty years of the greatest boom in the history of this world. There’s more wealth in this city than one could conceivably count. There are more billionaires, there are more people that have sheltered their income. And we’re turning around and we’re going to just keep driving down the poorest of the poorest of the poor. And that’s where we are. This is a game that’s going to come to an end in a bad way."

“Do we really need to have our own Egypt here in the U.S.? Or are we going to actually understand that we have a country where half of our people have no voice at all?”

"unless there is a major overhaul in the system"? That is not what I heard Sachs say. He implied that the system is broken and will not work because the wealthy are the ones who pay both parties' campaign costs.
I am hoping this is the same kind of uprising as Egypt where the people got fed up. But I'm afraid people will suffer a few more years before they reach that amount of outrage.

I'm not so sure....I think this could be the turning point. There are a lot of pissed off people.....However...I do agree that this is going to get real ugly and probably before the spring.

I hope and pray that THIS is the turning point. The more "THE POWERS THAT BE" stall the process, the geater the danger of it growing ugly.

Someone said: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." Who said that? Surely some pot-smoking hippie leftist, right? Well... not quite. In a 1962 speech given from the White House, the 35th president of the United States declared : "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

Did you hear those words, Barack and Joe and Hillary and the many others who are presently stalling ? Did you hear the words of warning of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy? DID YOU HEAR THEM? Thank you.
