A poem, for the beautiful people of the movement. I call it the movement, because we're bigger than a cause. We're for many good causes that have been oppressed for far too long...
"Remember The Magic?"
Bathed in sunlight, soaked in bliss, And on the shore, something's amiss, Why do they hate what we have bought? Have they not found the wealth we sought?
And as they sailed across the bay, They could not hear what they would say. Their ship in motion, shut out the sound Of the words of turmoil on the ground.
"How will we see our ends meet, Will be just days 'fore we're on the street!" The people wondered, most aloud, How they would work, how they'd be proud.
And as the boaters laughed and drank, The people's hearts, well they had sank. And in the midst of their despair, A child's one question filled the air.
"Remember the magic, Mom?" He cried, "I can't believe our dreams have died. I've learned to dream, I've learned to care, I've learned to love, to hug, to share."
And all the people, turning 'round, They grew transfixed on the child's lone sound. They too remembered, remembered still, The magic of their lives, until The day the rich took over town, And now they knew how it would be found.
They started to hug, they started to share, They started to love, they started to care. And when the rich did come to shore, Came back to people who knew the score.
And all together, they said "We care, We don't want you polluting our air, We're using our voices, we outnumber you, You may worship money, but we need ours too."
"We need our money for making things safe, To teach one another, to help, in good faith, Then all of us can make life the best, For firemen, or farmers, and all of the rest."
And in their hearts, the rich agreed, But could not give more, due to their greed. "If you all come and take our wealth, We'll have that much less for ourselves."
But then they thought about that time, When magic moments filled their minds, And they did cry, they had dreams too, And then remembered what magic can do.
They'd learned to love, to hug, to share, But along the way, forgot to care. "We know you helped us, and we say aloud, We'll make things better, we'll all be proud!"
And with their help, they made it so, They remembered the magic, and all did grow.
A woman, a dog, a walnut tree.
The more you beat them, the better they'll be.
Hatred is a tool for cowards. Brave men strive to understand.
The mountain sheep are sweeter, But the valley sheep are fatter; We therefore deemed it meeter To carry off the latter.
Enjoy your tomfoolery. Life is about fun too. Just not at the expense of others. Thanks for reading and posting.
Isn't tomfoolery(and poetry) what it is all about? All the better if you can combine the two.
Foolishness is tied up in the heart of a boy (But the rod of correction will remove it far from him)
Very true. Kudos!
Human beings are not inherently greedy.
Human beings are a product of their environment.
Human beings reflect their environment.
The human race is suffering from a value system disorder.
We, as a society cannot seem to denote wrong from right.
This must change.
The world must evolve.
The government must evolve.
The economic system must evolve.
Love will shine. Love will illuminate the truth.
Love for all mankind. Love for all the world's inhabitants.
Keep your eye on the prize. Keep your eye off the money.
Follow your heart. Follow your dreams.
Peace, Love, and Unity.
