Hey. My coworkers and I have been following the protest in NYC and fully respect and support the efforts by our peaceful brothers and sisters.

We spotted this article about the Dems seeking to “own” OWS. http://news.yahoo.com/democrats-seek-own-occupy-wall-street-movement-222048239.html

It’s appalling that a major political party would try to take advantage of a movement such as this. A lot of people have tried to brand OWS as the “liberal tea party.” Wouldn’t allowing them to do so actually transform the protesters into pawns for their political agenda?

I was under the assumption OWS was NOT a partisan movement. It does not stand for “free handouts” or the liberal agenda; rather, it fights for the end of corruption in the system we all agreed to live by. There is corruption within the corporations, the government, the media, and ALL of the political parties.

This is a plea to OWS and its supporters: Please do not let yourselves become corrupted. Reject advances made by any political party to “latch on” to your cause. They’re too blind to see the true mission of the movement — they’ll only end up using you to further their goals. Please, please, please don’t let them ruin it! Stay peaceful, stay honest, stay non-partisan. Please!

I think a lot of people agree with you.

I hope so. This movement is so much more than politics. Each protester has their own political beliefs, they each have a voice — and that’s amazing. Moving together as one, remaining objective, and being unified is what it’s all about! It kills me that politicians are trying to label it “anti-Republican” or a “liberal” movement. It’s not political, ah!
