To deceive or not to deceive– that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer The growing fraud and arrows of pure guilt And to take forks against the government And by swallowing the words empty. To confess – to lie- No more; and to come clean to say we give away with Poverty and debt the growing sweat of agony and disgust The lie hath inflicted upon us. ‘Tis a fulfillment To faithfully be liberated. To deceive- to lose trust To lose trust- perchance no hope: ay there’s the leech! For in that mode of doom what nose may come? Like that of Pinocchio or even Nixon When we have looked in the mirror, Shall frighten us ay There’s the 1 % That makes a disgrace of so beautiful a face. For who would bear the struggle set to the proletariat The devils compassion, the common mans mistake, The stares of corrupted politicians, the consequences unfold, The insolent grin of the bourgeoisie, and the several attempts Shall do or do not, there is no try When he himself hardly his shame eliminates With confession as dust, who would so much speak the truth? For the temporary wealth of few, But that the dread of the deprived generation The awful emptiness of the word hope, from whose grip Only the richest break free-torments the poor, And makes us rather suffer the worst Than ills we do not yet experience? Thus that small voice makes philosophers of us all, And thus the homeless fellow Is submerged with thoughts to overthrow a capitalist nation And initiatives of great courage and endurance Are born in an obstacle To take the place of a deceitful corporation Freedom at last.
