I hope everyone is reading David Korten's work. He is a Stanford trained PhD. He has written "When Corporations Rule the World" and more recently "The Great Turning: From Empire to Earth Community", 2007. His work seems essential reading for everyone who wants to effect real change. Alice in Oregon

Please help me out. I was thinking, the world needs so many more PhDs in bioengineering, math, biology, medicine, etc. What is Dr. Korten's profession? With such a prestigious degree, I hope somebody as obviously intelligent as this person chose a career path that could provide very meaningful and positive results for humanity. For example, Dr. Korten, if he pursued a medical degree, could potentially unlock mysteries of the genome, or if he chose a physics degree he could have helped discover something as amazing as artificial gravity, etc.
So what is his profession in? Because dear God the last thing planet earth needs is another soft humanities doctor walking around with theories that only make 100% sense to him / her.
