I'm paraphrasing, but I am sure that of the people believe the government is unjust that they have a right to rebel. Has our government forgotten this treasured unalienable right!? I think we, as the majority, should come up with another declaration of independence. Let us sever all ties to the corrupted government we are currently ruled under
The declaration of independence was from an underground movement that was actively hunted under penalty of death.
When we are actively hunted under penalty of death or imprisonment for our beliefs, then such a thing could be legitimate.
That type of thing has to be submitted by an assembly like the continental congress that has legitimacy and is known personally by many people.
It would be an escalation at this point, so I don't think it is a good idea.
Our problem is a faction using media to distract and divide us in a BIG WAY. If we were united, our government would be purified, not corrupt. The US Constitution is an awesome document. We need to perfect it more. Article V of the US Constitution will serve us well. Please, take a few minutes to review a compilation of the basic problem which comes from the fact that the civil war was not properly ended. http://algoxy.com/poly/emergency_powers_statutes.html Our government has been infiltrated. THAT is what we need to deal with and NOW. Remember 9-11.

Let's be careful with that, though... I understand your frustration but I doubt that a coup d'etat is going to do any good if at all. We've made it this far while staying pretty much completely nonviolent, and the movement is starting to snowball the same way the civil rights and Vietnam War protests did in past decades. I'm pretty sure we can accomplish what we need to accomplish through a combination of peaceful protest and political activity, and I'd rather we didn't have our reputation stained because someone got stupid and picked a fight with a cop or declared himself a sovereign citizen.
You do have a point, but my frutstration is in the replies we get from our government. If the document that birthed our country gives us a right to revolt, then the government should heed us. If our power is TRULY in the people, then why all this resistance from a government run BY the people?
Because they're in the rather unfortunate position of needing corporate money to keep their jobs. At this point, half of them probably know what the right thing to do is and hate the fact that they're too dependent on big business to do it. Politicians already know that our vote can't be bought with flashy ad campaigns or incessant telemarketing, and once the movement gets big enough they'll be able to listen to us without losing their jobs (and in fact will not be able to ignore us and keep their jobs). If however, we get stupid or violent, we will have shown them that the corporate interests are right and we really are to be feared and hated, and then any chance we have at changing things goes out the window.
I hope that they listen. If what you say of these politicians are true, then it will only be a matter of time.
So do I, but we'll never know unless we keep doing what we're doing.
