Forum Post: A much more effective way to make yourself heard

Discrediting political leaders to their face on video for Youtube is a much more effective way to make yourself heard and to have an impact on policy. Street protests probably aren't going to have an effect long-term, but challenging politicians on policy and showing how they're wrong will.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Recruit a few smart, experienced trial lawyers or similar who are familiar with asking questions.

  2. Find a topic that a leader misleads about or where they support bad policy.

  3. Develop a line of questioning designed to show how they're wrong.

  4. Go to a public appearance by that leader and - during a designated Q&A session - have the lawyer "cross-examine" the leader using that line of questioning.

Please see the notes and qualifications here:

I'm not talking about the weak questions you've seen at debates or public appearances. And, because many politicians are lawyers or otherwise good at evading questions, the person who asks the questions has to be able to engage them.

Please note also that I'm not suggesting simply shouting smears at someone's back (ala WeAreChange), nor am I suggesting that regular citizens ask the questions. You have to find someone who's experienced and able to outfox the person being asked questions.

The page above links to examples of bad questions others have asked in the past, a guide to help develop the questions, and some sample questions.
