I have a solution in our search for a agenda and platform. Although the commonly commented on proposed list of ideas is an interesting approach, I believe we need a more formalized method of addressing the needs of the 99%. Rather than listening to a sampling of individuals, why don't we just vote on it? I am establishing a lobbying organization dedicated to representing the interests of the majority. We will be polling our membership to determine what issues we will be taking up. The organization itself has no political association. It is not left or right. It is simply here to convey the views of the majority to their elected leaders. Any poll that reaches 65% support or opposition we will accept as a cause and contact all of the elected leaders whose congressional districts are also in support of the issue. In this manner we will not only be helping define a platform but also gathering data to back up our stance. It is one thing to take an abstract issue to a congressperson and say that they need to support it. It is another to say that 86% of your 9300 constituents that we represent want you take the following action. Please check the site out at www.lobbydemocracy.com. If you have questions or issues you would like us to consider please feel free to contact us either through this thread or through our contact us page. Lets pull together in an organized fashion so that we can make the most of this opportunity.
