Thank you for saying this.

A nation where wealth has accumulated at the top to such a degree as it has now, and also did in the 1920's can not sustain itself for long without social unrest. The late 40's, 50's and early 60's stability was a consequence of a more equitable wealth distribution. I have said it so many times and nobody listened, all this greed at the top is actually not in their best interest. It will create instability when the masses revolt.....the wealthy in this country have simply gone to far....and the policies of the past 30 years are insane. the rise of the prison, the drug wars, the illegal international wars, etc etc.

I have a good job. I was unemployed for about 1 year and underemployed for about 1 more year... I have a good job now in which I make more money than when I was previously employed, The reason? I was recommended by a family member. The woman that owns the agency I work for now believes that those that care for others are not well paid--believe me, they are not. Her solution? Pay them well. The result? She has a loyal and dedicated staff who feel respected and give more than required time and time again. That is far from being a business model to be emulated if you believe in the status quo. I have people constantly asking me to recommend them to her... she does not have enough work now and is barely surviving. There was a time when she had to turn potential clients away. The truth is hostversusparasite, there are more applicants than there are jobs... And I have considerable studen loan debt. Debt is a form of slavery, even the founding fathers knew that...

My brother was working in IT. He lost his job about ten or eleven years ago in his mid forties. He started helping one of his buddies who does home remodeling while he also dedicated himself to try and catch up in an industry that is constantly changing. Last year, through word of mouth, he was recommended for a position with an IT company. It was miraculous...he is still there but the company is experiencing lay-offs. By the way, he is earning about $10,000 dollars less than he was more than 10 years ago.

It is a fact that middle class income has declined. We, my brother and I, are an exception to the rule in this economic climate.

Why don't you join us instead of "whining and complaining" about us? Is that what you think of people like Harriet Tubman?? that they "complained and whined"?

We have the balls to stand up for ourselves, get out of our comfort zones and speak up for the rest of the impoverished. That, HVP, is courageous and honorable, and will be judged as such by history in the same way that the anti war movement, civil rights movement and the labor movement that ended the super exploitation of workers--including children mind you-- in the first part of the 20th century. History does not see them as "complainers and whiners".

And one of my favorite quotes...

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds"

--Albert Einstein--

To the OP: We can't you fucking idiot. The "host" you speak of is just a bloated mass of parasites feeding off of US.

"Leaching off the success of others"?

Those who succeed at taking more than they need, do so by taking from others,. simple math that.
We just want to stop the greedy and heartless from abusing the world. If that looks misdirected to you, perhaps you are the one who is wrongly directed.

"parasites"

You are under the wrong minded idea that the 1% do something useful and the rest of us NEED them,. lolz,. . they the 1% are in fact the parasites,. and we 99% are the host,. they live off our efforts! We are just curing ourselves of this parasitic infestation,. parasites meet guillotine.

It is time to break out the pitch forks and march on the big corporations and the Republicans and Democrats that support them.

The top 1% of earners pay 80% of all federal taxes. I'd say they are paying WAY more than their fair share. Too many leaches in this country. I think we should discontinue all welfare, food stamps, subsidized housing, etc. No more handouts or bailouts to individuals or corporations. Here's a wild idea: Let's bring back personal accountability!

[-] 1 points by shrimpster (7) 13 years ago

Agreed. Lets bring back personal accountability by not making corporations a person that protects the shareholders from any accountability. Maybe corporations should change laws so that shareholders are directly accountable like a LLC:-)

[-] 1 points by littleg (452) 13 years ago

Corporations are the parasites who suck middle class and poor of their money. Rich/wealthy are the owners of these virtual parasites. So the rich are the real parasite masters. :)

Children like you are fit for nothing.

But what is one to do with a degree in whining and complaining from an Ivy League college?

[-] 0 points by HostVersusParasite (6) 13 years ago

Get a job.

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

can you pay me?

[-] 1 points by onedadgo (4) 13 years ago

You have to prove your value to get a job. No one "gives" you a job.

[-] 1 points by pariscommune (205) 13 years ago

dont talk about value when you dont know what it is and mean usefullnes. slaves had to prove their usefullness too, how is it a good thing? so many stupidass rightwingers blaming shit and not understanding anything. just ask yourself if you would make your argument towards a slave too and if not the only thing in your argument is your good opinion about capitalism which says nothing except about yourself. could really spare humanity a milion stupid comments every day like that.

[-] 1 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 13 years ago

"slaves had to prove their usefullness too, how is it a good thing?"

oh bullsh*t. You are going to equate slavery to someone going for a job interview. Do you even have a job asshole?

[-] 1 points by pariscommune (205) 13 years ago

yes so what? do you even have an argument? slaves got sold for their lifetime, wage-slaves sell themselves to the highest bidder on an hour basis. argue that fool.

[-] 1 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 13 years ago

Are 'wage-slaves' forced to sell themselves to the highest bidder? No. And you're admitting that you're a wage-slave then?

Your employer struck gold with a genius like yourself.

[-] 1 points by pariscommune (205) 13 years ago

yea they are forced if they dont want to live off food stamps or starve to death in other countries with no minimal social security. they have to take whatever they can get their hands on, mostly 7 bucks an hour all over the us to make the fortune for its owners who dont even work at all in any company thats stock company or where the owner doesnt work himself. you dont even have the choice to become a subsitence farmer anymore because all the land is owned and so is everything, accessible only by money. my employer looks at my work and thats enough for him, hes not a hobby mccarthy like yourself and knows whats good for business. you fools dont understand who is sucking the lifeblood, you are fetishized and dont see the rich consuming several lifetimes of work of an average worker on a daily basis. you dont even know what a profit is, or a wage. just reactionary bullshit from uneducated fools. no clue of what is the measure of success of capitalism, abstract labour. well im not here to educate you just denounce idiotism.

[-] 1 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 13 years ago

"my employer looks at my work and thats enough for him"

Like I said, he struck a goldmine with you. Must be making a helluva impact there sparky.

[-] 1 points by HostVersusParasite (6) 13 years ago

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

[-] 1 points by kestrel (274) 13 years ago

If a job is defined as an occupation which provides food and shelter... I think they believe this qualifies as a job LOL

Well said

Thank you.

Although I think I would disagree with the absolute elimination of all welfare programs. Limited programs may have value, if structured the right way.
