We are the 99%. We are not Democrats. We are not Republicans. We are not Communists. We are not Capitalists. We are not Socialists. We are not Conservatives. We are not Liberals. We are Americans.
What if I am a legitimate communist?
Then you suck it up like everyone else who has a pet philosophy/ideal that doesn't/can't/probably won't contribute to OWS's goals. That includes the Obama fanboys, the Randian-Paulite Libertarians, the rabid atheists, the armchair theocrats, the Gold-buggers, the newfag Anonymous, the oldfag Anonymous, the South Park centrists, the anarchists, the contrarian pro-nuke environmentalists, the pro-Afghan-anti-Libya-maybe-annoyed-with-Iraq dovehawk chimerae, and all the rest. We come from very different camps, but we all agree that we need financial reforms, and we need them now. We can't keep picking in-fights, or things will only get worse.
We aren't red;
We aren't blue.
We represent
Me and you.
.
No hammer and sickle;
No big bronze bull.
We're the 99,
and you can help us pull.
.
We're not Dees or Ars;
we're not the haters.
Down with corruption;
Save the rest for later.
.
OK, you might need a chant leader who's really on the ball. Still, simple rhymes always help.
We See London We See France, We See WallStreets Underpants!
The chant is a little long... but if you can get the crowd to say chant things signifying inclusion and that it is not just a left leaning organization I think it would GREAT. People could capture video and throw 'em up on YouTube and other sites.
I really this this is a good idea.
Thanks. It does seem a little long, but I just wanted to include all the major labels we're likely to encounter.
I think it might be better if you have "WE ARE" rather than the negative. It sounds more positive and inclusive that way.
I thought it sounded better to stipulate that the movement is about standing outside of the system and looking at it as a whole. But thats just me.
Whatever has a better rhythm and is picked up by the crowd I guess
Honestly, who really cares what the MSM says. Even if they knew what the OWS movement was about, what makes you think they would report it unbiasedly ?
Sorry to point out the obvious, but the point of a chant is not to get on the air. The point of a chant is to send a message of sound to anyone who can hear it. It is the means by which the media's misrepresentation of the movement can be fought on the ground in the cities of the nation by reaching the ears of the man on the street.
Duh.
Well we should all call into their shows and tell them how biased they are
Occupations might work. Fox News is right there in New York.
They wont put you on the air or let you speak. Every thing that is said and shown to us is carefully crafted to promote their agenda. Every one hates Fox News and it's obvious why. MSNBC does the same thing they are just not as blatant as Fox News. The Media does not tell the truth and never will. All they do is push propaganda and political rhetoric.
You right.
