My fellow protestors,

Our movement is growing rapidly. However, I feel that we need to focus our message; to hone in on a central issue with laser-like precision. Our issues are legion - environment, gay rights, military adventurism, taxes, education, but getting these issues resolved with our current campaign finance scheme will be difficult, if not outright impossible.

I beg of you, my fellow protestors, we must rally around a central, unifying message. From New York to Boston, from Denver to Los Angeles, we need to focus on the core problem with our dysfunctional political system: Corporate money buying our politicians.

To quote Benito Mussolini - "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." We now live under a Fascist (or Corporatist) government, ruled by the moneyed elite that fund the campaigns of politicians and control our media through massive amounts of advertising dollars. What we must do, friends, is rally around the central message of removing money from the political process and moving to publicly funded elections.

Currently, politicians must acquire a certain threshold of signatures to appear on a ballot. Upon reaching that goal, they will be awarded a fixed amount of taxpayer dollars from which they can purchase air time, signs, etc., and run their campaign. In addition to public funding for their campaigns, media outlets would be obligated to provide a certain amount of free and equal air time to all candidates involved - not just Democrats and Republicans. Due to the fixed amount of dollars would-be elected officials will receive, they will have to rely on grass roots supporters and small, local events, rather than focusing on raising money from expensive, exclusive dinners and undisclosed special interest groups.

In accomplishing this I believe we will be better able to influence our elected officials, and in doing so will be better suited to address the rest of the issues important to our cause. Friends, I urge you all, please rally around this central message. Make this our singular immediate demand. Let it be known that we have more issues than campaign finance reform, but that we feel this is the single most important thing muffling the people's voice and threatening the very fibers of our Democratic Republic.

I hope to garner your support and make this the official message of our movement. Thank you for your time.
