Let's put some teeth into it people - line up and shut down their business, one account at a time. Bank of America is to banking what a child molester is to baby sitting. If you don't have an account at BofA (I salute you!) then line up in solidarity and ask as many questions of the tellers as they have time for as to why their bosses deceived the American people for a quick buck? Take their time up and question their judgement.
Take a bite out of corporate crime! Line up and close those accounts.
If I want food delivered to my house I have to pay for the convenience. If I want a company to assemble my furniture I have to pay for the convenience. Why shouldn't I have to pay for the convenience of having money accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a convenience and if I am going to use it, I should pay for it. Anybody who blames Bank of America for this latest fee is making wild assumptions without checking the facts. Wells Fargo is already charging, Bank of America at least gave us fair warning and time to figure out just how we can avoid the fee. If some of you would take the time to educate yourself rather than pint fingers and blame people who have nothing to do with the fee, i.e. tellers, maybe our economy would get back on track. I am just a teacher and cannot afford any extra fees, but with all the changes to banking that the government has imposed on BofA, and making them buy up all the home loans that should never have been given, blaming BofA is the wrong thing to do. You should be pointing your finger at the government, not the business that is trying to survive despite all the government regulated setbacks. Educate yourselves before you start making wild accusations and causing problems for the rest of us.
I think the comparison is apt. The series of manipulations that banks have perpetrated would be the envy of any child molester. I've been a credit union member for 25 years, and have always been treated with respect. Choose a business that reflects your values and starve the crooks and liars. Starve Corporate America!
Help us do it emeraldcity - pass the message along, or even pester a BofA teller next thursday with questions like, "Didn't your corporation loose a huge lawsuit recently? What can you tell me about that?"
"Bank of America is to banking what a child molester is to baby sitting." I am down to close my account, but stop making such absurd comparisons...they're just as extreme as the ones our media makes, really not an image you'd be wanting to convey. --- closing account today.
I appreciate your perspective. We don't need to be extreme, just fair.

good job on the account closure as well!
Agreed, but fairness doesn't mean playing the same rhetorical game the media plays, have integrity in what you say and make it clear...child molester analogies aren't what we need, they're comparable to the lame Hitler analogies the media uses. Sure it's awe-striking at first, but meditating over the conclusion reveals the slippery slope the media analyst is making, thus showing themselves to be incompetent and unworthy of being taken seriously.
I like your tone. I especially like that you did something. Please encourage the movement to push BofA out of the ring. I think we've all had enough of those folks.
Cheers!
Anywho, keep on it! Just be weary with those analogies, you're not the first and only. I just chose to discuss it here because it's been so prevalent in these forums, it's really more of a deterrent to me than effective.
oops. Newbie to the site. Sorry I posted twice. Although, being from Wisconsin and my husband being one of those evil public employees, I do feel pretty strongly about these things.
I agree! I think the slogan should be "Divest from Wall Street, Invest in Main Street." Is Citi too big to fail? Let's fix that by withdrawing any and all accounts from Citi and depositing the money in local credit unions. Find the Koch brothers nauseating? Don't buy their products or invest in their companies. The 1% got where they are using the money that the 99% of the rest of us basically gave them by using their financial services and buying their stock. They may have the money to buy political candidates right now, but it's still one person, one vote and we still have the power to put our money where WE want it.

Already closed it :) Their lovely $5/month to use my ATM card was the last straw.
