Hey Occupiers!
Following the movement intensely from my little rural community a few hours from Seattle. I just made this video expressing what I believe should be one of the top priorities: You can undermine the dominance of two political parties- and thus undermine the power of money in politics- if we replace "winner take all" elections with Cumulative voting systems (also called multivoting.)
Here is my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6L5jxkrcVw
Thanks! Let me know what you think. Matt
I am not saying cumulative voting will magically make our leaders the wisest and smartest people on Earth. I am saying cumulative voting is better than winner take all voting systems- because it is more democratic, accurate, and more difficult to corrupt with money.
Do you have another suggestion that will do something to stop the strangle hold that money has over our political system?
Oh boy just like American Idol. First we elect people who are well spoken, and good looking, but have no leadership qualities, and now you are proposing we have a cumulative voting system just like the teenie boppers do for American Idol. I weep for how stupid America has become.
