In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

We are now in the calm before the storm, steel yourself and prepare to steal it back.

Increases in capital gains taxes will not effect the market because people are not going to give up their WallSt gig in exchange for an actual job. The idea that paper pushers will suddenly desire a shovel in their hands is absurd. The rest of his news is old news.

The numbers are so contradictory right now, there is absolutely no reconciling wages/price index/dollar index/unemployment-employment/ect... they are all going different directions. No cohesion.

I think it will definitely affect the market, not because its going to do substantial harm, but the entire thing is on the verge of collapse and all its needs is for someone to sneeze on it.

All the Bush Cuts expiring could be that sneeze. Its going to collapse regardless of what they do with the Bush cuts, but I think it could be the catalyst the central bankers are looking for to create the anarchy needed for more consolidation.

Rich people cry about taxes but employers never hire Extra workers and employers never forgo making a profit by laying off workers just to prove a political point.

It's not real man, neither is the fiscal cliff.

What you should be asking is what kind of bills they're going to pass in the middle of the night while the media cycle is consumed with tax cuts an less money for bombs. Because thats exactly what they've been doing.

Im guessing they are going to use it to get us into war with Iran.

I heard on NPR today that Iran's currency lost 1/3 of its value today, that they people are totally panicking over there. Not good at all.

That about sums it up.

Check the article I just posted. This system is fucked.

How anyone could possibly back it at this point is beyond me.

乱 - luàn, meaning chaotic, or random. The significance?

[-] 0 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

It's hard to describe the way I see it. It has a lot to do with individuality.

[-] 1 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 12 years ago

Perhaps you see individuality as developing out of randomness or chaos? Where did you come across the Chinese character, a tattoo?

[-] 0 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

I use html character lists a lot.

If you can't describe something, it's because you don't understand it properly.

[-] 0 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

You must be a sock because you're one negative nelly.

[-] -1 points by JackTG (-194) 12 years ago

There's nothing negative about my statement above. It's a neutral fact.

I was reading about RAge putting the US flags upside down on SNL and the producers having a shit fit back in the day.

Love the pics with clickable music.

[-] 1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

Word. The upside down flag pisses people off something bad but I think the maritime purpose of turning it that way escapes most people.

I'll be adding more images as I make them and include music to give context to my thinking while making them.
