Welcome home US Soldiers!

We at Occupations across the country sincerely thank you for your dedicated service and invite you to join us in making sure that your lives are never again wasted on behalf of the corrupt corporate-political complex.

Yeah, that'll put food on the table.

[-] 2 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

it was all about Oil over there I knew that long before Bushy attacked Baghdad with Shock N Awe so Halliburton got obscenely rich at the cost of 5,000 american soldier's lives Nice work Bushy and Cheney and Dumsfeld

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 13 years ago

Oil profits are NOTHING compared to banks profits from crushing their currency and creating another one, for the rest of Iraq's history!

Its 100% profit when they do that. HUGE.

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

They want to exploit the Dinar every fool I know is investing in them saying they;re gonna be rich LOL it's only gonna be worth interest in the oil there but not here actually these guys are geniuses at how to inititiate ploys effectively

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 13 years ago

very very very very clever. And when dealing with a retarded public, even easier.

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

Greed makes people stupid I know when you blow your rent money in a casino like I did last month then it's a sickness I never learned either I've done this at least 5 different times Greed hits everyone

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

Would you rather leave our troops - our patriotic American brother and sisters - stranded in the sands of Arabia?

Conservatism hits another new low. Check back tomorrow as they dig their hole even deeper.

[-] 0 points by Perspective (-243) 13 years ago

Never said that, joining you folks isn't going to put food on the table.

[-] 1 points by Sample246 (43) from Pell City, AL 13 years ago

Funny how your name is "perspective" because your perspective is SHORT SIGHTED. Just because there may be a few more jobs left now, and the shaky economy hasn't completely condemned everyone just yet, doesn't mean it won't happen soon. Please look at the state of affairs and realize that we are going DOWN HILL. Pretty soon we're gonna hit sea level, and you'll drown my friend. Does it look like anything is legitimately being done about our current state of affairs? If you honestly think so, then I pity you.

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

Occupations like OWS routinely provide food to those who occupy.

Thanksgiving at Liberty Square!

[-] 3 points by guynorth (33) 13 years ago

No offense, but they weren't drafted. Most of them will still be in the service, so this isn't like Vietnam where you come back and kicked to the curb.

These folks coming back will stay in the service until they decide to exit service.

And the united states military has an exit program which aids in training to exit the military by drafting your experience into a resume applicable to the public sector and helps you identify job opportunities and field your application into areas related to your occupational training in the service.

There are even job/university mingles/fairs which they get you into that are exclusively or heavily military focused.

I know; I used it when I existed and I was able to get myself a pretty good job thanks to their help.

[-] 3 points by MrX (61) 13 years ago

Most of the people I know didnt have a job worth a damned when they joined! They will be treated a lot better than the Vets from the past wars! If the savings in munitions could be divied up and split amongst them, they would probably become at least middle class.

[-] 1 points by stevemiller (1062) 13 years ago

Savings in munitions? That is dumb. Tell me another fairy tale.

[-] 1 points by MrX (61) 13 years ago

A Browning M2 .50 Caliber machine gun will spit out $1500.00 per minute. Not sure about the rest. Im smart enough to realize that facts and realty don't really matter to you. Have a nice Thanksgiving.

would the gun overheat ?

[-] 1 points by MrX (61) 13 years ago

Only if you stumbled out in front of it! ;)

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

Yea OK I'm holding my breath middle class does'nt exist anymore have you been living in a cave?

[-] 1 points by MrX (61) 13 years ago

Hmm ok? Don't hurt yourself but imagine if middle class did exist, then imagine these people being there. Ok now just to play it safe you had better take a break, and return to a blank stare.

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

all I see in the world today are zombies that's funny blank stare LOL even the turkey tomorrow will have more than a blank stare on it more than I can say for human beings who in fact evolved from Planet of The Apes

[-] 1 points by yarichin (269) 13 years ago

You are delusional if you think the US planned to pull out. We lost the war, that is why the soldiers have to return. Obama is doing what all politicians do he is putting a positive spin on the loss. Crediting himself with bringing the troops home. Any soldiers not out by the deadline will be arrested as armed illegal aliens.

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 13 years ago

Shouldn't the trolls be telling the soldiers to stop whining and get a job?

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 13 years ago

So they're supposed to just stay there so they can remain employed?! LOL...the right sure hates the government and government workers...until they don't... :-)

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

ain't gonna get a job here

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

if I were in the military I'd probably give them my life as well hard to adapt back to civilian life especially when no one gives a damn here at least they have their comrads and benefits and pay

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 13 years ago

True. Ive got plenty of family in, and they have to decide between going to WWIII or trying to get a job and support fam in WWIII.

Lose-lose.

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

join the Club

[-] 1 points by Fishp00 (122) 13 years ago

In all seriousness did most of them really have jobs and future careers before they left?

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

No that's why they joined at least they got paid

[-] 1 points by Fishp00 (122) 13 years ago

Maybe I should reconsider and occupy the military instead by getting a job with them!

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

if your between 18-21 Yea I would go into communications, naval radar or avionics anything to do with strategic positions my cousin is doing military intelligence in Norfolk,Va has had a career for 12 years now he got married and has a new home he ain't complainin

[-] 1 points by Fishp00 (122) 13 years ago

Is it too late to maybe become a cop??? Sadly my 20's are in the rearview mirror and the destination we are all driving toward looks bleak -eek-

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

I expect an impact on San Diego

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

we have a marine base and an army base

the navy is still floating I imagine

[-] 1 points by morons123 (131) 13 years ago

please remind me but did we have a draft?

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 13 years ago

No need. Just keep unemployment around 10% and there are millions of people with no other options.

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

Yes It was draft beer full of scrubs watch the car chase scene in the movie Bullit The Charger looks mean

[-] 0 points by pinker (586) 13 years ago

so we should have left them there?

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

to run the oil wells sure that's the only reason they were there in the 1st place to secure Iraq's oil for the West

[-] 0 points by pinker (586) 13 years ago

Well, that's one theory. But it doesn't address this guy's post. Thank God they're getting those kids out of there.

[-] 0 points by seaglass (671) from Brigantine, NJ 13 years ago

Why should they be any different then the rest of us?

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

so risking they're lives to protect your ass makes you Better? LOL yea right and when you say rest of us don't assume everyone thinks like you

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 13 years ago

What were they "protecting" us from? The U.S. military hasn't protected the American people from a legitimate threat for about 65 years. I'm not blaming the soldiers for that, but people need to stop pretending that the Mongol hordes have been trying to break our door down. Give me a break. Almost every military action--overt or covert--that the United States has undertaken since World War II (and there have been plenty--the U.S. has killed roughly 8,000,000 people around the world in that time) has been offensive and/or exploitative. Stop deluding yourselves...

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 13 years ago

Tear jerker headline. They can stay in the armed forces as a career. They did sign up willingly.

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

maybe they should just join the OWS protests? cause if there were a draft OWS people would be in Iraq and Afghanistan if this was the Vietnam era all you guys would have been drafted so be thank-ful you were'nt

[Removed]

[-] 1 points by KVNLGN (154) 13 years ago

No question in my mind that these veterans will join the movement soon enough.

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 13 years ago

There is no draft, this is not the Vietnam era.

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

meh

war still supports the weapons industry

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 13 years ago

so do private gun owners.

[-] 0 points by Perspective (-243) 13 years ago

Damn skippy,it's called the 2nd amendment.

[-] 0 points by Perspective (-243) 13 years ago

Maybe not now but Selective Service is still in operation and ALL males who turn 18 must register. All it takes is a switch throw and the draft is back.

[-] 1 points by Vooter (441) 13 years ago

I would love it if they brought the draft back. Then all the chickenhawk Republicans and neocons would be able to watch their kids get their legs blown off so that Grumman and Raytheon and Exxon could rake in even more blood money...

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 13 years ago

I am aware of the Selective Service registration. So?

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

you'd shit in ur pants if it were

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 13 years ago

[-] 0 points by eyeofthetiger (304) 13 years ago

[-] 0 points by raines (699) 13 years ago
